Maintenance Engineer OverviewMaintainability Engineer is responsible for developing detailed Maintenance Task Analyses (MTA), troubleshooting procedures, and fault isolation logic to ensure field maintainability, technical accuracy, and supportability of complex electrical and mechanical systems. This role translates high-level support strategies (RCM, FMECA, LORA) into actionable maintenance workflows, supporting technical publications, training, provisioning, and field repair execution.
This engineer interfaces closely with manufacturing, quality, warranty, and field service teams to capture real-world maintenance feedback and ensure that service procedures are safe, executable, and optimized for operational environments. A strong understanding of assembly processes, failure diagnostics, and hands-on repair practices—particularly electrical troubleshooting—is critical to success in this role.
EducationMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent military or industry technical training or field service experience may also be considered.
- Familiarity with maintenance engineering, technical support, manufacturing engineering, or field service for electromechanical systems, 3 years of engineering experience preferred.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting and system‑level diagnostic experience preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with MTA principles per MIL‑STD‑1388, MIL‑STD‑3034, or DEF‑STAN 00‑60.
- Experience with fault tree analysis (FTA), logic diagrams, and root‑cause isolation techniques.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and maintenance processes, particularly for electrical systems, harnessing, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Prior experience validating service procedures or troubleshooting guides is a plus.
- Practical hands‑on background in electrical diagnostics, such as industrial automation or field service.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across engineering, service, and operations teams.
- Experience in defense, industrial energy, or mission‑critical systems environments is highly desirable.
- Experience with telematics data capture and processing.
