Mechanical Engineer – Wildeck, Inc
The Mechanical Engineers design, test, integrate, and assist in the installation of small to medium-scale mechanical systems. They utilize computer-aided design software to create and check designs and schematics from simple to complex and apply mechanical engineering principles with creativity, experience, and knowledge to provide solutions. They work with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety.
Responsibilities- Research and select proper mechanical components for each design project. Compare costs and performance specifications to provide optimal value.
- Serve as primary contact for resolving mechanical problems during and after installation.
- Coordinate with the Sales team and customers in preparing sales quotes for engineered-to-order projects and other special requests.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing to assemble and test mechanical components and systems.
- Utilize computer-aided design software to prepare the complete design and layout of the mechanical system, including bill of materials (BOM).
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the development and production phases.
- Develop and maintain hydraulic schematics and hydraulic routing diagrams.
- Perform detailed mechanical engineering calculations and simulations to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Review architectural and structural drawings to identify potential problems and offer solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Two years' related experience in Design.
- Proficiency with 2D and 3D modeling software and Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of finite element analysis (FEA).
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, systems, and materials.
- Knowledge of proper welding designations.
- Knowledge of elevator industry safety requirements and elevator codes preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Travel up to 10% per year.
- Physical Requirements include:
Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 25 pounds. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
