As an Industrial Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting time studies, evaluating assembly workflows, and implementing Lean methodologies to improve throughput and manufacturing performance. You will collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, perform value stream mapping, and develop optimized future-state systems. The role involves supporting Kaizen events, root-cause analysis, and the creation of Standard Work Instructions to ensure consistency and process excellence.
You will also contribute to fixture design and ensure meaningful, data-driven recommendations are implemented to drive measurable operational improvements.
- Study assembly lines and manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities using Lean principles.
- Conduct detailed time studies and line balancing activities, including elemental breakdown, VA/NVA/RNVA analysis, and Muri analysis.
- Develop Current and Future State Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and analyze bottlenecks, waste, and flow inefficiencies.
- Perform capacity analysis, establish baseline performance, and build improvement roadmaps.
- Identify productivity improvement opportunities with Level 1, 2, and 3 recommendations and implementation plans.
- Develop and revise Standard Work Instructions and Video Work Instructions.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis for defects, downtime, and quality issues and support corrective actions.
- Participate in and support Kaizen initiatives across production areas.
- Assist with fixture design and collaborate with engineering teams when needed.
- Proven experience in Industrial Engineering within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
- Hands-on experience with time studies, line balancing, and productivity analysis.
- Proficiency in Value Stream Mapping and flow analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting Kaizen or Six Sigma improvement events.
- Exposure to CAD or fixture design tools.
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Knowledge of ergonomics and workstation optimization principles.
