Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking to play a key part in supporting product quality, manufacturing, and new product development? Our Welding Accessories and Cutting Division of Miller Electric is looking for someone who brings energy, curiosity, and a can‑do mindset— a strong communicator who can thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities Supplier Collaboration & Project Support- Collaborate with suppliers throughout development to ensure cost targets and timelines stay on track.
- Support product quality and manufacturing efforts by maintaining strong communication and alignment across internal teams and external partners.
- Evaluate, test, and troubleshoot challenges related to tooling, product design, quality, and production methods—summarizing findings in clear, actionable reports.
- Design and execute test setups, build prototypes, operate lab/shop equipment, collect data, and deliver comprehensive test reports.
- Champion continuous improvement in manufacturing and assembly processes, with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
- Take an active, hands‑on role in all aspects of design, including CAD modeling, fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, reliability testing, compliance, documentation, product launch, and manufacturing support.
- Partner with engineers, technicians, service, and manufacturing teams to develop reliable, cost‑effective, and streamlined product solutions.
- Design and document components and assemblies using Solid Works.
- Contribute across all stages of new product development—Discover, Create, Develop, and Deploy.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with relevant industry experience preferred.
- 3+ years of hands‑on engineering experience.
- Proven track record in innovative design, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA), and effective time management.
- Proficiency with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office tools.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude, strong motivation, and excellent communication skills.
- Solid foundation in core mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, vibrations, heat transfer, material selection, and physics.
