About the RoleAs the Tooling Engineer, you’ll support tooling design, maintenance, and optimization across production. You’ll work closely with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure tools run reliably, efficiently, and consistently. This role is central to keeping production stable and supporting long‑term manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities- Oversee tooling performance, troubleshooting, and improvements to support consistent production
- Partner with engineering and production teams to evaluate tool condition, address issues, and implement upgrades
- Support tooling design reviews, vendor communication, and documentation updates
- Coordinate tool repairs, preventive maintenance, and long‑term tooling strategies
- Analyze tooling‑related downtime, scrap, and process variation to identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure tooling standards, specifications, and documentation remain accurate and up to date
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and repeatability
- BS in Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- 3+ years of tooling engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Plastic injection molding experience is required
- Strong understanding of tooling function, maintenance, and troubleshooting within a production environment
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and external tooling vendors
- Experience supporting tooling improvements, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs
- Comfortable analyzing tooling performance data and identifying root causes of variation
- Injection molding tooling experience is mandatory
