Job Description / Role and ResponsibilitiesJoin a premier industrial automation manufacturer to architect and deploy custom control systems for high-performance material handling machinery. In this role, you will manage automated systems projects from scope definition through manufacturing, simulation, testing, and field commissioning. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, electrical technicians, and project managers to deliver innovative, integrated solutions that optimize client production lines.
- Program programmable logic controllers, safety controllers, and human-machine interfaces from scratch or utilizing existing code libraries (
Rockwell Control Logix
, Guard Logix
, and Studio 5000
). - Manage assigned automation projects from initial kickoff through factory acceptance testing (
FAT
) and final site startup, ensuring compliance with customer acceptance criteria. - Direct electro-mechanical technicians and electrical assemblers on proper component mounting, sensor placement, and cable routing strategies.
- Develop comprehensive electrical schematics, bill of materials (
BOM
), and equipment operation documentation using specialized CAD software. - Collaborate with internal project managers, mechanical engineers, and external clients to define project scopes, drive schedules, and document system revisions.
- Support commission activities and system integration efforts both on the production floor and directly at client manufacturing sites.
- Credentials:
Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a highly related engineering field is required. - Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience in the design, programming, and field implementation of industrial automation control systems.
- Software/Tools: Advanced proficiency in programming Rockwell Control Logix
, Guard Logix
, Studio 5000 ME/SE
, Kinetix motion controllers, variable frequency drives (
VFDs
), and AutoCAD Electrical
. - Travel: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15%–20% to regional manufacturing facilities for customer site startup assistance.
