Responsibilities- Oversee or participate in field activities on WisDOT projects, with some municipal opportunities.
- Provide on‑site representation for projects, supporting documentation, material testing, survey coordination, and related tasks.
- Apply engineering and technical knowledge to complete construction duties.
- Conduct final inspections of construction projects.
- Deliver expert‑level field observations for projects of all sizes and complexities to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
- Serve as lead construction engineer on multi‑phase or multi‑operational projects, coordinating personnel, schedules, and work assignments.
- Oversee lower‑level staff, monitor safety, quality, and compliance with industry and company standards.
- Coordinate construction engineering duties across multiple projects.
- Communicate and present information to Construction Leaders, practice leaders, engineers, contractors, clients, customers, public groups, and the public.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to obtain required HTCP certifications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; professional presentation ability.
- Strong multi‑tasking and organizational skills.
- Accurate calculation of project quantities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Familiarity with AASHTOWare Project (AWP).
- Commitment to SEH’s quality and safety standards.
- 3‑10 years of experience in the construction industry, with knowledge of techniques, estimating, scheduling, and administration.
- Knowledge of WisDOT construction policies and practices.
- Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within a reasonable time.
- Willingness to travel long distances daily if required.
- Familiarity with Civil 3D, One Office, Bluebeam, and/or Adobe.
Position requires an MVR records check verifying a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets SEH’s Driving Program requirements.
Compensation & BenefitsBase compensation: $70,000–$85,000, depending on skill set and experience. Benefits include flexible holidays, paid family leave, and a comprehensive benefits package.
LocationOpen to candidates residing in Appleton, Wisconsin, and Sheboygan, Wisconsin. SEH cannot hire residents of AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, or PR at this time.
