GeneralDescription
The Practice Leader will be responsible for technical oversight, project delivery, client development, and strategic direction of traffic-related services for private development projects and municipal infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in traffic engineering principles along with a passion for building teams and expanding service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities 1. Practice Development & Leadership- Lead the development and growth of the traffic engineering practice, including strategic planning and service offerings.
- Identify market opportunities and expand the firm’s presence in traffic and transportation services.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on business planning, budgeting, and staffing needs.
- Mentor and guide junior staff as the team grows.
- Manage and deliver traffic engineering projects from planning through design and implementation.
- Oversee preparation of traffic impact studies, safety analyses, signal design, signing and pavement marking plans, and corridor studies.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to applicable standards (MUTCD, AASHTO, WisDOT, etc.).
- Provide technical expertise and review of deliverables.
- Develop and maintain relationships with municipal, county, and state clients.
- Support proposal development, including scope, schedule, and fee estimates.
- Represent the firm at industry events, meetings, and conferences.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities.
- Work closely with site development, and municipal engineering teams.
- Coordinate with planners, public agencies, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams.
Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Proven project management and client interaction experience.
