Location: Superior, WI (Open to candidates in Minnesota or Wisconsin willing to travel to Superior 1–2 times per week. Field visits required approximately once per month.)
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and organized Project Manager II to join our engineering team supporting brownfield projects across North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. This role focuses on removing the administrative project management burden from engineers, ensuring projects are executed efficiently from planning through closeout.
The team consists of 7 engineers (across ND, MN, WI), 2 specialists (electrical and mechanical), and 1 project manager. As project demand increases, this role will provide critical support for managing multiple concurrent projects ranging from $10K to under $1M. Typical projects include replacing valves, pumps, motors, and PCVs on existing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Take ownership of administrative project management tasks, allowing engineers to focus on technical work.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Support project planning, detailed design review, execution, and closure.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects (typically 4–12), ensuring quality and compliance.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams across multiple states.
- Identify challenges and provide solutions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure alignment with company and client safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience, preferably in construction or engineering-related fields.
- Experience with brownfield projects and understanding of existing facility upgrades.
- General ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and project execution processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with varying budgets and priorities.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with engineers, specialists, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing booster pump, valve, or mechanical system replacement projects.
- Familiarity with project management software tools.
- Experience leading cross-state or multi-site engineering projects.
- Hybrid onsite schedule (M, T, Th) in Superior, WI, with travel 1–2 times per week for candidates outside the area.
- Field visits approximately once per month.
- Collaborative team environment with engineers and specialists across multiple states.
