OverviewTEL is a global technology company operating in the electronics industry. The EHS Engineer II will develop and implement safety and environmental strategies that meet regulatory and industry standards.
Responsibilities- Champion workplace safety and provide leadership through communication, education, and actions.
- Conduct EHS training including respiratory training and fit testing, fall protection, control of hazardous energies, qualified electrical worker and ergonomics.
- Perform detailed ergonomic analyses by collecting and interpreting data from employees and work environments, use various tools to evaluate risk and collaborate with teams to propose realistic solutions.
- Research and apply regulatory and industry safety codes, such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, SEMI, and ANSI.
- Experience with PPE, industrial hygiene and ergonomic assessments, make recommendations and report on results.
- Conduct incident investigations using root cause analysis to drive system improvements.
- Lead site safety committee meetings and manage closure of related action items.
- Support the development of engineering and administrative controls to mitigate risk to target levels.
- Cultivate internal and external customer relationships that drive implementation of safety systems or improvements that promote safe work habits.
- Review and update EHS policies, procedures and best known methods throughout the organization.
- Provide safety coaching to employees and leadership that align with regional safety activities and initiatives.
- Support other facilities throughout the U.S. as needed, which may require occasional overnight travel (< 25%).
- A minimum of 2 years of EHS experience.
- Certifications:
CSP, CIH, CHMM, CPE (a plus). - Bachelor of Science in engineering, chemistry, biology, industrial hygiene, safety, or closely related field.
- Strong preference for EHS experience at a semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility.
- Knowledgeable in federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to work independently and excellent interpersonal communication and written skills.
- Dependable, stable under pressure, and able to adapt to change.
Job duties may be performed in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May require bending, stooping, crawling, climbing and use of PPE.
