EHS Engineer II

TEL is a global technology company operating in the electronics industry. The EHS Engineer II will develop and implement safety and environmental strategies that meet regulatory and industry standards.

• Champion workplace safety and provide leadership through communication, education, and actions.
• Conduct EHS training including respiratory training and fit testing, fall protection, control of hazardous energies, qualified electrical worker and ergonomics.
• Perform detailed ergonomic analyses by collecting and interpreting data from employees and work environments, use various tools to evaluate risk and collaborate with teams to propose realistic solutions.
• Research and apply regulatory and industry safety codes, such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, SEMI, and ANSI.
• Experience with PPE, industrial hygiene and ergonomic assessments, make recommendations and report on results.
• Conduct incident investigations using root cause analysis to drive system improvements.
• Lead site safety committee meetings and manage closure of related action items.
• Support the development of engineering and administrative controls to mitigate risk to target levels.
• Cultivate internal and external customer relationships that drive implementation of safety systems or improvements that promote safe work habits.
• Review and update EHS policies, procedures and best known methods throughout the organization.
• Provide safety coaching to employees and leadership that align with regional safety activities and initiatives.
• Support other facilities throughout the U.S. as needed, which may require occasional overnight travel (< 25%).

• A minimum of 2 years of EHS experience.
• Certifications:
  
  CSP, CIH, CHMM, CPE (a plus).
• Bachelor of Science in engineering, chemistry, biology, industrial hygiene, safety, or closely related field.
• Strong preference for EHS experience at a semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility.
• Knowledgeable in federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ability to work independently and excellent interpersonal communication and written skills.
• Dependable, stable under pressure, and able to adapt to change.

Job duties may be performed in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May require bending, stooping, crawling, climbing and use of PPE.
