Field Airborne Support Technology position. Must be available on an on‑call basis, with the ability to be on site or dispatched within two hours of the initial contact from Gulfstream. Recruiting in the Midwest region:
Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Michigan, Minnesota & Wisconsin.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) including 2 years of Gulfstream aircraft experience.
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Passport required.
- Must be available on an on‑call basis, on site or dispatched within two hours.
- Communicate effectively with the customer, FAST flight crews, Tech Ops, business office, vendors, warranty, field service representatives, and hangar ops.
- Act as single point of contact between Gulfstream and the customer for aircraft schedule and return to service expectations.
- Perform required AOG maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems.
- Work independently to complete maintenance and avionics tasks within quoted or standard CMP time with minimal supervision.
- Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engines, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.
- Coordinate inspections to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the customer and provide one‑on‑one familiarization briefings during the road trip.
- Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment; store aircraft components and other customer property securely.
- Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
- Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components.
- Order and receive all tooling and materials needed to service the AOG aircraft.
- Arrange shipment of all core units and tooling back to Gulfstream.
- Identify required advanced troubleshooting techniques for all model aircraft with assistance from Tech Ops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
- Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
