Job Description
Industrial Equipment Engineering team requires a Lab Technician to support and develop product testing. The role involves working closely with engineers, lab technicians, and production personnel to test, validate, and troubleshoot various power sources. The technician will perform lab tests, maintain documentation related to Engineering, Reliability, and third‑party testing, and diagnose and correct issues in released products and prototypes. Occasional collaboration with manufacturing and service teams to resolve production and field problems is expected.
EssentialFunctions
- Read and understand schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Run engineering tests including heat tests, VA curves, abnormal tests, third‑party certification testing, and new design verification testing.
- Diagnose and correct issues from production, lab, and reliability tests, working with production, service, engineering, and marketing to solve field reliability problems.
- Conduct CSA, CAN/CSA‑E60974, CE, and other tests; assist the Third‑Party Coordinator in constructing, creating, or modifying third‑party reports.
- Assist with maintaining the lab area and improving lab processes.
- Two‑year technical degree in electronics, electro‑mechanical, or related field.
- Understanding of power source phase control and inverter topologies.
- Team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Macola, and ability to write accurate and concise reports. Limited travel may be required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering product development and/or support.
- Knowledge of IEC and CSA certification requirements and hands‑on experience with IEC and CSA testing and technical report preparation.
- Knowledge of induction heating.
- Knowledge or experience with various welding processes.
