Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer focuses on the development and execution of manufacturing engineering processes with an enterprise-first perspective, coordinating with engineering and operations management to drive new product development initiatives and manufacturing readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Manage strategic manufacturing projects in a broad range of technologies
  • Forge strong working relationships with operational functions, business areas, external partners, employees, and senior management
  • Act as a trusted business partner with sound judgment in handling business and customer information
  • Make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes
  • Influence across all levels of the organization by engendering trust
  • Review projects for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specifications
  • Support the creation of proven production processes through pilot production validation
  • Empower team members to take initiative, make decisions, and contribute to strategic goals
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and high-performing team
  • Facilitate commitments to customers to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery
  • Mentor and develop direct and indirect reports to strengthen skill sets and maintain a strong talent pipeline
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless project execution
  • Develop project scope and objectives with relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Use verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Develop and maintain project update tools (RFQ, Safety Sign Offs, Stage Gate sign-offs, supplier vetting, etc.)
  • Maintain knowledge of manufacturing processes to improve competitive position
  • Foster creativity, teamwork and innovation by facilitating technical exploration and proactive support
  • Apply Lean Operating Principles to manufacturing operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology Management or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering related to wire harness production, value-added cable assembly, welding processes, and magnetic assemblies
  • Independent and organized work style with ability to manage time, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Proven business aptitude; capable of decision-making and leveraging opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; team player capable of relating to employees at all levels
  • Excellent project management skills
