Job TypeFull‑time Weekend Liaison/Design Engineer position in the Structural/Mechanical Engineering Completions group.
LocationAppleton, Wisconsin. Focused on aircraft cabinetry, monuments, and associated wire harnesses.
OverviewThis role ensures all mechanical and structural engineering production issues are addressed and resolved promptly. It engages in engineering design, modeling, and drafting of new and derivative interior furnishings and wire harnesses as part of the outfitting of new Gulfstream aircraft. The candidate works in a proactive team‑based environment with Operations, Engineering, Certification, and Quality.
Responsibilities- Review and disposition of all manufacturing (production, completion, vendor) issues relating to material discrepancies, engineering data, and electrical harnesses.
- Determine root cause(s) of engineering errors and drive solutions back to the upstream engineering process to improve quality.
- Ensure Operations and Engineering are informed of all in‑work issues that could impact the current aircraft schedule.
- Coordinate with other groups to assure design requirements and objectives are maintained.
- Create engineering data as required based on departmental needs.
- Provide excellent oral and written communication, and strong project management capabilities.
- Possess liaison and/or MRB experience creating dispositions in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Have EWIS experience (preferred).
- Work with AutoCAD and CATIA V5.
- Knowledge of Title 14 CFR Part 25 and STC process related to aircraft interior certification is a plus.
- Solve typical engineering problems within the assigned discipline.
- Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to completion of project milestones.
- Manage complex engineering assignments or full projects of lesser complexity while following established schedules.
- Obtain appropriate supervisor approvals for work accuracy and adequacy.
- Apply company policies and procedures and continually improve daily processes to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of technical developments and application of principles in the assigned field.
- Act as a point of contact within the organization, with occasional customer interactions on routine issues.
- Work under general supervision for routine tasks and, with mentorship, coordinate activities for lower‑level engineering staff.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. At least 18 months of related engineering experience. Advanced degree credits are considered: up to 2 years for a Master’s degree and up to 4 years for a PhD in a field applicable to the position.

- Strong written and verbal communication to convey technical concepts.

- Capability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
