This role plays a critical part in shaping the future state of operations by delivering scalable, efficient, and resilient manufacturing systems. The Manufacturing Engineer / Advanced Industrial Engineer
- Lead directly influences cost structure, product quality, delivery performance, and the organization's ability to grow and compete. You will lead a team that supports manufacturing and operational projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with operating system principles such as designing systems that expose problems, addressing issues at their source, promoting knowledge sharing, and developing leaders who teach and mentor others.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize end-to-end manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Lead a team focused on advanced time studies, line balancing, capacity modeling, and throughput optimization initiatives.
- Develop standard work, labor models, and ergonomic solutions tailored to complex manufacturing environments.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints methodologies to identify and eliminate waste across operations.
- Build and maintain advanced simulation, flow, and capacity models to support data-driven decision-making.
- Create cost models, make-versus-buy analyses, and ROI justifications for capital expenditures and process investments.
- Influence product design by applying DFMA principles, tolerance analysis, error-proofing strategies, and assembly feasibility studies.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI) industrialization efforts, including production layouts, material flow design, and ramp-up strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement through structured events, KPI development, and cross-functional leadership across manufacturing and operations.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned to support operational excellence and business objectives.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering, with responsibility for end-to-end process design and optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in advanced time studies, line balancing, capacity modeling, and throughput optimization.
- Strong expertise in developing standard work, labor models, and ergonomic solutions for complex manufacturing operations.
- Hands-on experience applying Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve flow.
- Practical application of Six Sigma tools and methodologies to enhance quality and process capability.
- Ability to use Theory of Constraints concepts to identify bottlenecks and increase system throughput.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining advanced simulation, flow, and capacity models for manufacturing systems.
- Experience creating cost models, make-versus-buy analyses, and ROI justifications for capital and process investments.
- Experience influencing product design through DFMA, tolerance analysis, error-proofing, and assembly feasibility assessments.
- Experience leading new product introduction industrialization, including production layouts, material flow planning, and ramp-up strategies.
- At least 7 years of industrial or operations engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience with new product introduction processes and manufacturing process development.
- Background in manufacturing engineering, including process optimization and production support.
- Familiarity with engineering change order processes and BOM (bill of materials) generation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
- Comfort with continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence across multiple sites or functions.
Work Environment
The role operates in a manufacturing and industrial engineering environment that emphasizes data-driven decision-making, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with production, design, and operations teams to develop and refine manufacturing systems, using tools such as simulation models, flow and capacity analyses, and ergonomic assessments. The environment focuses on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, structured standard work, and well-defined production layouts and material flows.
Work may involve time on the shop floor observing processes, conducting time studies, and validating improvements, as well as office-based analytical and design tasks.
