Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm
Pay: up to $28.00/HR
Duties:
- Design and develop 3D models of utility truck assemblies according to customer requirements and engineering specifications.
- Create accurate and detailed technical drawings, including proper dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.
- Manage design schedules and priorities to ensure project milestones and customer deadlines are met.
- Update and maintain part numbering and naming conventions in support of ERP system implementation and data standardization efforts.
- Review and revise existing drawings, models, and documentation for accuracy and consistency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing costs, improving manufacturability, and increasing installation efficiency.
- Assist with special design, modeling, and drafting projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to resolve design questions and support project requirements.
- Utilize measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure design accuracy.
- Maintain engineering documentation and support product data management activities.
- Follow company quality standards, engineering procedures, and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- Two (2) or more years of mechanical design, drafting, or related experience
, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and technical drawing creation.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sage 100, and Adobe applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to work effectively in small group and team environments.
- Experience with engineering change management, part numbering systems, and ERP environments is a plus.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
