ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include:
- Performing stress analysis and related activities for new and derivative designs of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new aircraft.
- Reviewing engineering models and drawings.
- Preparing load calculations, finite element models, and writing stress reports in collaboration with the Structural Engineering group and Structural AR's providing approvals.
- Design analysis for custom cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets, and other storage compartments, interior peripheries, water/waste systems, entertainment equipment installations, and seating installations.
- Analyzing airframe modifications to meet requirements of interior installation.
- Conducting aircraft level analysis such as decompression and floor loading analysis.
- Utilizing Classical hand analysis and Finite Element Modeling using FEMAP with Nastran.
Candidates should have:
- A sufficient knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA V5 CAD tools to adequately review engineering designs.
- FEA experience with FEMAP preferred.
Assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Lead or Group Head to meet engineering, certification, and manufacturing schedules. Analysis methods and design standards to be employed are consistent with company standards and accepted methods. Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned.
Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. 18 months related engineering experience. Experience credit will be considered for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for a Master's and 4 years for a PhD in a field applicable to the job position.
