Position DescriptionThe Electrical Engineer independently designs, documents, and executes medium- and low-voltage (MV/LV) power distribution and electrical systems projects. The position is responsible for interpreting customer specifications, developing design deliverables, coordinating across engineering and manufacturing teams, and ensuring project quality and accuracy from order release through production support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Electrical System Design- Independently designs and reviews electrical systems, including one-lines, three-lines, and control schematics
- Design power and control systems for MV/LV power distribution equipment and Power Distribution Centers (PDC)
- Prepare and review electrical deliverables including submittal/construction drawings, BOMs, and nameplates
- Perform AC/DC load calculations for CPTs and battery backup systems
- Ensure designs meet applicable standards (UL, IEEE, NEC, etc.) and company specifications
- Analyze customer specifications against the quote/BOM to identify gaps or issues
- Participate in internal design review meetings to ensure readiness for manufacturing
- Manage Engineering Changes (ECs), redlines, and documentation updates to support timely project release
- Prepare and review submittal and construction packages for completeness and accuracy
- Coordinate with mechanical and application engineers to ensure alignment between electrical one-line and mechanical layouts
- Collaborate with project managers, sourcing, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend customer meetings as needed to support design validation, redline reviews, or technical clarifications
- Identify opportunities for process improvements or design standardization
- Share technical knowledge with newer engineers or designers as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required- Strong ability to interpret and develop electrical schematics, one-line, and three-line diagrams
- Working knowledge of protection relays, utility metering, Modbus communications, and circuit monitoring systems
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities
- Excellent documentation and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software and ability to produce complete, accurate design packages
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability in technical or project coordination issues
- Proactive mindset with ownership of assigned work and accountability for results
- Good understanding of MV/LV power distribution equipment design
- Experience supporting prototype builds or early-stage production launches
- Working familiarity with Solid Works Electrical and basic mechanical layout coordination
- Working knowledge of IEEE, UL, NEC, ANSI standards
- Experience with ERP systems, BOM management, or PDM tools
- Ability to assist or mentor junior team members when needed
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and desire for continuous improvement
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or in an engineering-related field, along with at least 3 to 7 years of using CAD software (preferably Solid Works Electrical), is required. Candidates with at least 3 to 7 years electro-mechanical engineering work experience in a production or manufacturing environment are required. Equivalent work experience of at least 7 years may also be considered.
