Description

Job Summary

As an employee of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, you will provide the best in guest experience while working as an ambassador for the live performing arts. In addition, you will be an advocate for the Center and its mission, working to inspire, transform and build our community through exceptional live experiences. You are responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and overseeing the execution of all events while supervising bartenders, event attendants and valet attendants.

You play a vital role in the success of the Center’s events.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
  • Understand and ensure excellent guest experience per the standards, policies and procedures set forth by the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
  • Manage execution of all events in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Review and execute all event information in Center’s event management software (Momentus Elite), including but not limited to: client, event description, anticipated attendance, signage, staffing, food, beverage and event policies.
  • Supervise scheduled staff at all events including bartenders, event attendants and valet attendants. Lead staff meetings to review event policies.
  • Actively enforce the Center’s guidelines and policies, including but not limited to: health code, liquor license and safe driving policies.
  • Assist with all emergency services and protocols at events, including but not limited to: medical emergency/injury, lost or missing persons removal of a patron from the building and evacuation and shelter in place scenarios for all of front of house.
  • Communicate with the house manager as needed to maintain an environment conducive to a successful event.
  • Manage all cash handling for events with the highest level of accuracy, including but not limited to: petty cash, cash counting and event deposits.
  • Update Momentus post-event to reflect any changes from the execution of the event.
  • Complete post event, cash deposit and other reports as required.
  • Assist the event and concessions manager as directed in administrative duties, including but not limited to: developing policies and procedures, managing product inventory, managing point of sale software, organizing storage spaces, cleaning and maintaining equipment and event preparation.
  • Maintain team communication, including emails, intranet page and message boards.
  • Assist in maintaining confidential staff files relating to attendance, cash handling and disciplinary action.
  • Assist the event services manager in the training and development of the staff, including bartenders, event attendants and valet attendants.
  • Make recommendations for constant process improvement and standard operating procedures to event services manager.
  • Direct guests confidently throughout the front of house, including but not limited to: seating locations, event spaces, bathrooms and ADA services.
  • Engage guests actively to support Center initiatives, including but not limited to seasonal fundraising campaigns.
  • Attend Center trainings and meetings as assigned.
  • Create staff schedules based on the needs of events as directed by the event services manager.
  • Complete and maintain First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma with a minimum of two years’ event service, cash handling and/or customer service experience and the ability to acquire and maintain a valid City of Appleton bartending license.

  • Excellent organization skills and multitasking abilities with strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, event management software and point of sale software
  • Ability to organize tasks and work independently
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift, push and/or carry at least 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of an event
