The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the organization, with direct leadership of the Accounts Payable and Payroll functions, while also supporting treasury and cash management activities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, timely processing of transactions, and effective management of cash flow and banking activities. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to drive process improvements across multiple finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Accounts Payable and Payroll teams, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities
Manage treasury‑related functions including cash forecasting, daily cash positioning, bank reconciliations, wire/ACH activity, and banking relationships
Monitor cash flow and support working capital management initiatives
Review payroll processing and related tax filings to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Ensure accurate AP processing, vendor management, and payment controls
Assist with annual audits and support requests from external auditors
Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures
Partner cross‑functionally with HR, operations, and leadership to support business objectives and resolve financial matters
Support ERP optimization, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives
Prepare financial reports and analysis for management as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
Experience overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and treasury/cash management functions
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CMA designation preferred
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi‑entity environments a plus
Experience with cash forecasting and banking/treasury management tools preferred
