Mortgage Specialist

Position Summary:

The Inside Mortgage Specialist will be responsible for originating and processing mortgage loans for leads generated by Marine Credit Union.

Primary mortgage programs will be Conventional Fixed Rate through Servion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Partner with Marine Credit Union to originate mortgage loans that are eligible for sale in the Secondary Market.
• Upon receiving the mortgage lead, contact the member in a timely manner to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Determine eligibility of the member to the mortgage programs that Marine Credit Union currently offer.
• Process and submit loan documentation obtained from the member to the Investor for loan approval.
• Refer loans that are not saleable mortgage products to qualified Marine Credit Union partners.

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Provide the referring partner with updates regarding the status of the loan.
• Maintain a working knowledge of an array of products and services.
• Abide by all applicable Marine Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Abide by all applicable rules and regulations.

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Master knowledge of conventional fixed mortgage underwriting guidelines.
• Master knowledge of RESPA and TILA.
• Experienced with DU/DO and other automated underwriting systems.
• Above average computer skills.
• Must be detail oriented
