About Theda Care!

Summary :

The Physical Therapist diagnoses and treats patients with medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. The therapist provides a variety of healthcare services tailored to each patient's needs, using treatment techniques to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Works with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive services and participates in team-based continuous improvement.

Job Description:

SCHEDULE
:

  • Availability for extra shifts, PTO, and/or sick coverage.
  • 1 out of every 4 weekend rotations.
  • Coverage for PT evaluations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform safe and effective assessments, re-assessments, and develop and implement individualized therapy plans. Consult with other disciplines as needed to coordinate care.
  • Delegate appropriately to physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation aides, ensuring accountability and supporting their professional growth.
  • Accurately document services in compliance with standards to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
  • Contribute to the development of standards of care, protocols, and procedures based on evidence-based practices to ensure quality.
  • Actively work to improve patient access to care and contribute to the department’s financial health.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and the community to support growth.
  • Support professional development and mentorship within the team.
  • Develop or implement clinical and community activities to enhance services and patient care.
  • Promote patient and family-centered care to ensure positive experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in physical therapy from an accredited institution.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • License to practice as a physical therapist in Wisconsin.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling) and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Exposure to blood-borne pathogens during job duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasional exposure to sharp objects, moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards, and high noise levels.
  • Possible contact with communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
  • Occasional contact with aggressive or combative patients.
  • Exposure to heat sources like hot water or heat guns.
