*** position will work 4 days/week.

Reporting administratively to the Herma Heart Echocardiography Technician Supervisor, and under the technical direction of a cardiologist performs non invasive cardiac studies according to procedures. Operates echocardiograph diagnostic equipment and maintains echo cardiographic laboratory.

Requires job knowledge acquired through a high school education plus two years of advanced education in echocardiography. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.

Previous echo cardiographic experience in a pediatric setting would be desirable. Requires registration as a Pediatric ECHO Tech within 2 years of date of hire, if not prior to hire.

Analytical skills required to perform basic diagnostic echocardiograph studies, which demonstrate underlying cardiac pathology to cardiologists who interpret results. These skills will be expected to progress within 2 years of hire to include identification of all congenital heart disease anatomy.

Attention to detail is essential in order to avoid danger to patients. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact effectively with physicians, families, patients and students. Ability to elicit cooperation form children in order to complete studies is desired.
