Frontline Applicant Tracking – School District Of Bayfield
Bayfield School District is seeking two dedicated and collaborative Occupational Therapists (OT) to serve students in grades K‑12, with a strong emphasis on sensory regulation, participation, and access to learning. The OT will support students across general and special education settings, addressing sensory processing differences, self‑regulation challenges, fine and visual motor development, and functional school‑based skills. This role is ideal for a practitioner who values interdisciplinary collaboration, proactive problem‑solving, and relationship‑building within a rural district community.
EssentialFunctions
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using standardized and non‑standardized tools.
- Assess sensory processing, self‑regulation, motor coordination, visual‑motor integration, executive functioning, and functional school participation.
- Interpret assessment data and prepare clear, legally compliant reports.
- Participate in eligibility and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based interventions focused on sensory regulation and modulation.
- Create self‑regulation strategies (Zones of Regulation‑informed approaches, alerting/calming strategies).
- Improve fine motor and handwriting skills.
- Enhance functional participation in classroom routines.
- Build adaptive skills and school‑based independence.
- Provide direct and consultative services in natural school environments.
- Design and support sensory‑friendly classroom environments and sensory diets.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, school psychologist, speech‑language pathologists, and physical therapist.
- Provide consultation on sensory supports, classroom accommodations, and behavior‑regulation strategies.
- Train staff in sensory‑informed practices and co‑regulation strategies.
- Support Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (WiMLSS) with tiered sensory and self‑regulation interventions.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies for home carryover.
- Provide resources and education to caregivers regarding sensory processing and regulation.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies.
- Ensure timelines for evaluations and IEP services are met.
- Maintain therapy materials, equipment, and inventory.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Eligible or currently hold a WI DPI issued Occupational Therapist License (WI 051).
Physical and Mental DemandsThis work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work frequently standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting and occasionally requires using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word;
hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
FLSA Status:
Exempt
Job Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $61,447 – $83,505 (based on years of licensed experience)
