Symbria offers full-time travel positions that provide all the benefits of full-time employment, including health insurance, PTO, continuing education and more. Travel assignments can be placed anywhere within our organization and we operate in 10 states with a variety of settings.
We offer a monthly travel stipend in addition to a competitive salary.
- Review and evaluate physician’s referral and patient’s medical record to determine Occupational Therapy program required.
- Evaluate each patient’s current level of functioning using approved evaluation techniques, tests and observations, and prepare written treatment programmes based on evaluations.
- Administer a prescribed Occupational Therapy program to restore and maintain maximum function and prevent disability using a range of therapeutic modalities specific to upper extremity function, sensory and perceptual skills, coordination and self‑care skills including light hygiene, bathing, dressing, transfers, eating and homemaking.
- Maintain appropriate documentation in the patient chart, re‑evaluate patient progress and revise treatment programmes as necessary.
- Communicate Occupational Therapy philosophy and treatment approaches and goals to patients, their families and other members of the rehabilitation team.
- Coordinate Occupational Therapy services with Physical Therapy, Speech‑Language Pathology and the Nursing department.
- Supervise Symbria Rehab Occupational Therapy Assistants, monitor productivity and staffing needs within the community.
- Complete all required clinical and billing documentation as indicated and submit in a timely manner.
- Adhere to Symbria Rehab’s mission, Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
- Maintain productivity standards.
- Fully utilise technology provided to document and enhance client care.
- Adhere to terms and conditions of travel assignment contract.
- Be available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services.
- Provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
- A valid registered licence is required for Symbria’s operating states, or the ability to obtain a licence or compact licence to support assignments in any designated state.
- If using a compact licence, must have a full licence in your state of residence.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment, multi‑task, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem‑solving skills and basic maths skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service.
- Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Acute care, long‑term care and/or rehabilitation experience.
- Assignments are based on 13‑week internal contracts. Once an assignment is complete there will be an option to extend the assignment or to be placed at another Symbria location. Terms of the contract are based on company and staffing needs.
- Each assignment is eligible for a monthly living stipend based on location and travel.
- Continuous assignments are guaranteed for one year. After completing a year of travel assignments, you may have the opportunity for relocation assistance to secure a permanent placement or choose to continue as part of the internal travel team.
