Job Description Summary
MUSC Florence Surgical Services is excited to announce our Perioperative Training Program for experienced Registered Nurses who are interested in the Operating Room. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities- Provides nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
- Directs and leads assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
- Provides patient/family centered care, focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
- Conducts assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching, promotion and evaluation of goals consistent with MUSC policies.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, professional behavior.
- Participates in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, peer review, professional development, promotes leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, and autonomous practice.
- Coordinates effective and efficient delivery of patient care services applying care management principles.
- Identifies clinical priorities and initiates actions to improve patient outcomes.
40 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements- Associate’s Degree and a minimum of one year of RN experience.
- RN licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association Basic Life Support or American Red Cross).
- Hospital experience preferred.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking vitals, administering injections, or conducting exams.
- Capacity to lift and move patients or equipment as needed.
- Visual acuity and color perception to read charts, documents, and monitors accurately.
- Auditory ability to communicate and perceive important sounds.
- Stamina and resilience to handle physical and emotional demands, including long shifts and stressful situations.
- Mobility to navigate clinical environments.
- Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of PPE.
