Clinical Pharmacist
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13‑week travel assignment in an acute care hospital. This position offers a 7‑on/7‑off rotating schedule with evening and overnight shifts, providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to both adult and pediatric inpatient populations. The ideal candidate has hospital pharmacy experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities- Verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness.
- Perform product verification and medication release.
- Review and adjust medication therapy, including IV‑to‑PO conversions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Provide clinical pharmacy consultations and medication recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and patient safety standards.
- Support medication distribution through automated dispensing systems.
- Document pharmacy interventions using the electronic medical record.
- Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License or eligibility under ACT 10.
- Current BLS certification (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital pharmacy experience required.
- Residency training or 3 years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Comfortable verifying and managing standard pediatric medication orders.
- Strong clinical knowledge of inpatient pharmacy practice.
- Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record.
- Experience with Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinets.
- Experience with Sterile compounding and remote verification systems.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Shift: Rotating Evening & Night Shifts (7 On / 7 Off)
- 2nd Shift: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Schedule:
10‑Hour Shifts - Scheduled
Hours:
40 Hours per Week - 7 Days On / 7 Days Off
- Rotating Evening and Night Shifts
- Typical work week begins on Wednesday
- Up to every other weekend required
- No routine on‑call; occasional call‑in coverage may be requested for staffing needs
