Overview

Position:
System Capacity Command Center - EVS and Transport Dispatch (PRN Nights).

Location:

6901 Portage Road, BHG Bronson Healthcare Group. Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides dispatch services to staff and managers of the System Environmental Services (EVS) and Patient Transport departments.

Collaborates with site-specific EVS and Patient Transport leadership, as well as the System Capacity Management Team, to ensure patient throughput and coordinate resources.

• Organize and maintain the Epic EVS & Patient Transport command center and ensure proper patient throughput.
• Maintain communication with house managers, charge nurses, testing departments, and unit clerks to track room and patient priority.
• Use critical thinking to dispatch department resources to high-priority areas of the hospital.
• Run Epic productivity and quality reports daily, monthly, and yearly; collect and report throughput data to EVS and the Patient Transport leadership and Capacity Command Center team.
• Collaborate with Capacity Command Center (CCC) team members and leaders on clinical priorities and synchronization based on system needs.
• Identify process improvements with CCC operations and acute care leadership to reduce patient length of stay (LOS), trend delays, and enhance patient safety.
• Collaborate with other department members of the System Throughput Team and communicate with site-specific EVS and Patient Transport leadership teams and support staff.
• Delegate tasks to the proper individuals and work with the EPIC team to develop and evolve productivity reports.
• Other duties as assigned related to throughput and operational support.

• High school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of general healthcare experience required.
• EVS and/or Patient Transport experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with multiple standard business software on a PC (e.g., Microsoft applications, staffing, payroll, and supply applications). Epic experience preferred.
• Must be dependable and able to maintain staff and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills (phone, in-person, and written).
