Position Overview
EXPH 3180 Exercise Testing & Prescription is an upper-level course in exercise testing and prescription. Content includes professional communication, risk stratification, exercise assessment and testing techniques, test interpretation, and patient/subject specific exercise prescription. Students will be expected to gain experience and competence in physical/exercise assessment with the application exercise prescription in clinical, wellness, and sport and exercise environments.
The weekly, 1.5
-hour lab sessions focus on application of lecture materials and practice of exercise assessment and prescription in athletic, non-athletic healthy, and disease populations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist course instructor with laboratory sections in EXPH 3180 (Exercise Testing and Prescription). Duties include but are not limited to:
Lab and equipment setup and takedown, instruction and supervision of exercise assessments and tests, test proctoring, grading, and in-lab student and instructor support. Required skills include strong working knowledge of exercise testing protocols, principals of rehabilitation in healthy and diseased populations, anatomy and physiology, and emergency management of patients in an exercise setting. Current position as a clinical exercise physiologist or cardiac rehabilitation strongly preferred.
Applicants should have interest/experience in supervision of students, athletes or patients in exercise science environment.

Skills and Abilities
Minimum requirement of bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, employment in the field of clinical exercise physiology and experience in laboratory instruction.

Preference of clinical experience with strong working knowledge of exercise testing and prescription.
