- Act as cashier when needed.
- Supervise all areas within Catering/Food and Beverage.
- Assist in or execute banquet events as required.
- Complete performance appraisals.
- Oversee banquet set‑ups and schedule wait staff accordingly.
- Use Hotel, Sales, and POS systems.
- Create BEOs in the absence of the Sales & Catering Clerk.
- Input and complete weekly payroll.
- Process recognition/rewards and disciplinary actions for staff.
- Hire and train staff as appropriate.
- Provide on‑shift training, scheduling, and overall supervision of assigned staff.
- Provide departmental orientation for new employees and monitor training and feedback sessions.
- Develop and post weekly schedules after approval.
- Follow emergency programming procedures to keep POS System online.
- Maintain all required records and reports.
- Complete payment of catering events and process advance deposits and final payments.
- Conduct pre‑shift meetings and post‑event briefings.
- Maintain the highest standards of service, health, sanitation, and safety for all shift personnel and guests.
- Promote positive public and employee relations and generate repeat business.
- Enforce and comply with all Federal, State, Local laws and Internal Controls related to Dining Room operations.
- Ensure Convention Center Ballroom closing duties are complete.
- Turn in all paperwork to the Sales & Catering Office including tip slips, work and shift exchanges.
- Record all schedule changes on posted schedules and notify appropriate personnel.
- Control and monitor labor costs on each shift and assist in approving time in the MCR/TC Time and Attendance program.
- Ensure timely and accurate distribution of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Participate in the weekly BEO meeting.
- Conduct monthly inventory counts for FOH (alcohol, soda, dry goods).
- Maintain FOH catering equipment, smallware, and glassware inventory.
- Create Supervisor Reports for each shift to provide feedback and recap the shift. Utilize the pass down log to communicate information to other Supervisors and staff.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 21 years of age, able to work unusual hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and possess the ability to react quickly to stressful situations in a calm manner. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree in hospitality, restaurant, or related field preferred.
Six months’ experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage, Restaurant, or related field.
One to two years food service supervisory experience preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Serv Safe certification required within 90 days.
- IPS training required within 90 days.
- Wisconsin bartender’s license required within 90 days.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Excel.
- Wisconsin driver’s license with a good record preferred.
- No conviction or pending unresolved charge of any crime that requires compliance with reporting requirements for sex offenders pursuant to Menominee or Wisconsin law.
- No felony conviction of any kind in the immediately preceding two years.
- No crime related to gambling in the immediately preceding two years.
- No crime related to theft, fraud, or misrepresentation in the immediately preceding two years.
- No crime related to violence, domestic violence, or a drug offense involving sale or possession with intent to sell drugs in the immediately preceding two years.
