Ocean Spray is hiring for the position of Workforce Staffing Specialist. The role is integral to our farmer‑owned cooperative, ensuring plant operations run smoothly through effective staffing.
Responsibilities- Manage workforce staffing and create scheduling solutions by completing complex schedules and making appropriate adjustments based on business needs, time off requests, daily call‑outs, and known absences.
- Complete all hourly internal transfers, promotions, and/or job change transactions, ensuring compliance with collective‑bargaining agreements or similar processes for non‑union locations.
- Interact with recruiters, hiring managers, human resources, and functional leaders to determine best staffing approaches and place the right team members at the right time.
- Build collaborative relationships with departments and hourly employees, ensuring proper and timely communications.
- Navigate multiple operating systems, including staffing applications, applicant‑tracking modules, text‑alert systems, etc.
- Assist in the facilitation of onboarding new team members through ownership of Workday training and enrollment to the time‑keeping system.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert on workforce‑management software and processes that support staffing and payroll activities.
- Assist managers and supervisors in maintaining daily attendance and call logs accurately and ensuring compliance with absence programs and policies.
- Conduct and assist in operational audits to manage controls and measurements within an identified department.
- Assist in tracking and documenting SKAs through the use of position qualifications or competency programs/matrixes.
- Utilize and maintain various computer systems to track, record, generate, format, and distribute operational reports.
- Support and promote food safety and quality program initiatives within the plant environment.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Experience in an administrative role.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Training experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population.
Education: Associate’s Degree (required).
Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience.
