This position is primarily based at our Sauk City facility. Travel to our Verona location (typically once per week or as business needs require) is expected.
Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist supports a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HRIS administration. This role partners with managers and employees to provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, support day-to-day HR operations, and help maintain a positive and compliant workplace.
Essential Job Functions- Support in management of full-cycle recruitment, including partnering with staffing agencies, sourcing candidates, conducting screenings, coordinating interviews, performing reference checks, extending offers, and maintaining the applicant tracking systems
- Partner with managers to support hiring, employee relations, performance management, investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including offer letters, background checks, drug screens, physicals, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, benefits, leave programs (FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation), and other HR-related matters.
- Process personnel changes, maintain employee records and HRIS data, and ensure personnel files remain accurate, confidential, and compliant with applicable legal requirements.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other HR compliance initiatives.
- Generate HR reports and workforce metrics related to recruitment, turnover, benefits, and other key HR activities.
- Assist with the administration and communication of HR policies, procedures, employee handbook updates, and provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department.
- Assist with employee training and development initiatives.
- This position requires flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and evolving Human Resources priorities.
- Employees at CPI work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each.
- Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate's Degree or Technical Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred. - 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, or a related HR function preferred.
- Working knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, and employee benefits administration.
- Experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HRIS/payroll systems.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with managers, employees, and external partners.
