The Director of Education & Outreach is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and sustaining strong partnerships with K–12 schools, technical colleges, and universities. This position plays a critical role in developing a robust talent pipeline through internships, youth apprenticeships, and early‑career hiring initiatives, while also leading internal training and development programs that support organizational performance.
WorkSchedule
This is a full‑time, salaried exempt, benefits eligible position, following a core schedule of Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility as needed; additional hours may be required based on business needs, including some evenings with occasional travel.
EssentialJob Duties Include but are not limited to:
Talent Pipeline & External Partnerships
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with K–12 schools, technical colleges, and universities
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and educational institutions
- Design and execute outreach strategies to attract students to careers in high‑tech manufacturing
- Conduct school visits, presentations, career panels, and participate in Career & Technical Education (CTE) initiatives
- Collaborate with CTE coordinators to identify, recruit, and screen candidates for youth apprenticeship programs
- Coordinate and participate in career fairs, Manufacturing Day, and other community engagement events
- Lead initiatives such as the IMTS student trip and other experiential learning opportunities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve internal technical training programs aligned with business needs
- Partner with manufacturing leadership and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop curriculum focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence
- Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, and multimedia content
- Establish and guide a mentor network to support employee development
- Facilitate training sessions, assessments, and career development planning
- Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training solutions
- In partnership with HR, oversee onboarding, training, and rotational programs for all employees, including interns and youth apprentices
- Partner with HR and operational leaders to evaluate performance and development
- Create meaningful development experiences and cross‑functional exposure opportunities
- Ensure alignment between educational programs and company workforce needs
- Maintain accurate and audit‑ready training records (ISO/AS compliance)
- Ensure completion of required certifications and training programs
- Partner with HR to track and report training metrics
- Support workforce planning through data‑driven insights
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Serve as an ambassador for the company’s values and mission internally and externally
- Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of teaching experience. Experience in manufacturing, technical training or workforce development programs is preferred.
- Proven experience building partnerships with K–12 schools, technical colleges, and universities
- Demonstrated success designing and implementing education
- Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and video editing software
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing demands
- Knowledge of ISO/AS training compliance requirements is preferred
- Experience working with learning management systems (LMS) is preferred
