The Opportunity

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering, the Manager leads a single team of software engineers to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable eCommerce and enterprise application features. The role focuses on team-level execution of engineering practices within the Build pillar (solution implementation and quality) and partners closely with Plan (Agile Delivery) on backlog readiness, Run (IT Operations) on releases and production handoffs, and Protect (Security & Compliance) on secure‑by‑design practices.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Team Delivery

  • Execute team‑level CI/CD, Continuous Quality practices, and code review standards; maintain unit and integration tests.
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release preparation.
  • Ensure code quality standards are followed across development activities.
  • Provide hands‑on guidance in PHP/Symfony (Oro Commerce) and integration patterns; implement established architecture patterns and propose improvements.
  • Manage technical debt within the team: track, triage, and execute remediation within sprints.

Team & People Management

  • Manage, mentor, and support engineers; conduct performance reviews and development plans.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer‑centric, and continuously improving team culture.

Delivery & Agile Partnership (with Plan)

  • Partner with Product/BA/Scrum roles to keep the backlog refined with clear acceptance criteria and non‑functional requirements; contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and reviews.
  • Report team delivery health (velocity, sprint goal attainment, PR cycle time) and quality metrics.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with project managers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and priorities.
  • Translate business needs into technical tasks and solutions.
  • Share updates on progress, metrics, and releases with the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering and IT leadership.

Systems & Integration Ownership (Team Scope)

  • Deliver eCommerce capabilities (catalog, cart/checkout, payment, fulfillment, personalization) and assist with ERP/enterprise integrations (e.g., Boomi).
  • Maintain documentation for assigned services/applications and ensure clean handoffs to Operations.

Operations Readiness & Incident Support

  • Coordinate release preparation with Dev Ops/Operations; validate feature flags and rollback steps.
  • Prepare and maintain support runbooks; act as Tier‑2 SME for incidents; expedite escalation to Run for production reliability.
