Systems Technician

Job Description

The Systems Technician (ST) will work in teams or independently to provide day-to-day support of Venturedyne computers and technology. Technology support includes installation, documentation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. The ST may be dispatched to provide first-level end-user support. The position provides one-on-one consultancy to employees in the proper use and operation of hardware and software technology.

This position is at the corporate headquarters for Venturedyne which is located in Pewaukee.

• Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis and resolution of computer problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users and needed.
• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot end-user workstations, related hardware and software.
• Assist the infrastructure team with technology installations, repairs and maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, cleaning and upgrades to computers in offices.
• Problem solving on a broad range of technologies and solutions will be an essential output of this role.
• Collaborate with staff to troubleshoot and resolve technology problems; report and elevate emergency issues as necessary and appropriate.
• Receive and respond to incoming calls, service desk tickets or email regarding equipment incidents.
• Provide prompt and accurate updating of support requests.
• Ensure compliance with hardware and software standards.
• Physically set up, configure and test computers, peripherals, software and ensure that equipment is functioning properly.
• Build and deploy software distribution packages or images for computer applications.
• Develop support procedures, technical documentation and other related documentation in conformance with established standards.

• Associate's OR Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field
• Experience with managing and troubleshooting computer and printers
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic network issues
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Perform independently or with a team
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

• Two (2) years of experience maintaining IT infrastructure
• Have previously obtained any of the following CompTIA
  
  Certifications:
  
  A+, Network+, Security+
• Proficiency in configuring Windows desktops and laptops
• Knowledge in Microsoft Server and Active Directory
• Basic familiarity with cybersecurity practices
• Understanding of backups, restores and monitoring
