Network Engineer, IT Support
We are seeking a highly skilled Extreme Network Engineer III with deep expertise in Extreme Networks technologies to join our Professional Services team. The role is critical in delivering high-value design, upgrade, and implementation projects for our customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor and leading complex engagements.
Location and TravelThis position is open to candidates located in Wisconsin (preferred) or nearby states, such as Minnesota, Iowa, or Illinois. It will involve frequent travel to Wisconsin to perform work at onsite customer locations, with an estimated travel amount of 30% - 50% of the time.
Position OverviewYour primary responsibilities will include customer installations and configurations, creating high-level and low-level designs, leading technical engagements, and ensuring project success aligned with client business objectives.
Responsibilities- Be responsible for customer installations and configurations and create customer-facing high-level designs and detailed low-level designs.
- Act as the network technical lead on customer projects.
- Design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot the following vendor technologies:
- Extreme Networks routers, switches, wireless, and management platforms
- Extreme fabric engine (VOSS) and switch engine (EXOS) including SPBM/ISIS, OSPF, BGP.
- Extreme XIQ Cloud Platform ONE
- Extreme XIQ-Site Engine, Control Engine (NAC) and Analytics.
- Extreme wireless controllers and APs.
- Juniper routers and switches (EX, MX, SRX) – a plus.
- HPE Aruba routers, switches, and wireless, including Aruba Central, AOS-CX, Clearpass – a plus.
- Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls – a plus.
- Extreme Networks routers, switches, wireless, and management platforms
- Build templates for automation of equipment roll‑outs for other staff members.
- Act as a supportive SME for the Account team and prime SE on network designs.
- Serve as a third‑level resource for Tech Support engineers.
- 7‑10 years of experience in a field support, professional services, or technical support role.
- Heavy experience with Juniper routers and switches, including VPLS to EVPN migrations and knowledge of Juniper Apstra for EVPN deployment.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing protocols (MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
- Ability to use scripting to configure networking devices.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols.
- Data center routing and switching experience required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong account management and customer communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Extreme commitment to customer service and enhancing the customer experience.
- Excellent computing skills, including Linux.
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize customer support tools and resources.

Pay Range: $130,000 - $155,000
