Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking an RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to support our crop insurance operations. In this field-based role, you will travel to farms within your assigned territory to investigate and adjust crop insurance claims. You will conduct on-site inspections, measure and document crop damage, verify coverage, and calculate loss estimates in line with RCIS and federal program guidelines.
You will prepare clear reports, maintain accurate records in our systems, and communicate decisions and next steps to farmers, agents, and internal teams. This position offers the opportunity to develop technical adjusting skills, learn modern insurance and risk practices, and work closely with agricultural customers while contributing to Zurich's customer-focused, ethical, and collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and adjust crop insurance claims within assigned territory, ensuring timely and accurate resolution
- Conduct on-site field inspections to assess crop damage, verify coverage, and estimate loss values
- Collect, analyze, and document farm, acreage, yield, and weather data in accordance with RCIS and regulatory standards
- Explain coverage decisions, claim outcomes, and required documentation to policyholders and agents
- Prepare clear, detailed claim reports and maintain accurate records in Zurich/RCIS systems
- Collaborate with underwriting, agents, and other internal teams to resolve complex claim issues
- Adhere to federal crop insurance program guidelines, company policies, and ethical standards
- Participate in training and continuous learning to stay current on crop practices, insurance rules, and tools
- Use mapping tools, mobile applications, and measurement equipment to support field adjusting work
- Support peak-season claim volume and travel frequently within the region as needed
