Early Talent at Kohler Kohler’s Early Talent internship programs are designed to provide meaningful, hands‑on experience that drives real business impact. Over the course of a 10–12 week internship, interns are immersed in the business—contributing to real projects, building practical skills, and gaining valuable exposure to our teams. They are supported through intentional learning, mentorship, and a strong sense of community.

These experiences are designed to build a strong pipeline of talent for future full-time opportunities, including Leadership Development Programs and direct hire roles.

Program Overview Kohler’s Operations & Supply Chain experience is an exciting launchpad for students ready to build real-world capability, explore meaningful career paths, and make an immediate impact in a global manufacturing environment. As an intern, you will contribute to high-priority projects across areas such as logistics, strategic sourcing, planning, process engineering, quality, continuous improvement, and new product integration while gaining exposure to the same functions that shape Kohler’s Operations & Supply Chain Leadership Development Program.

Through hands-on assignments, networking, leadership engagement, job shadowing, stewardship opportunities, and connection with Kohler’s broader early talent community, you will develop a stronger understanding of how end-to-end operations drive business results—and how your curiosity, initiative, and ideas can help shape the future of gracious, healthy, and sustainable living.

What You’ll Do

  • Distribution Network/Warehouse Design — Analyze warehouse layout, material flow, or storage utilization and recommend improvements to improve efficiency, safety, or space optimization.
  • Domestic/International Transportation — Evaluate freight routes, carrier performance, shipment data, or transportation costs to identify opportunities for improved service, reliability, or cost savings.
  • New Product Integration — Support cross-functional readiness for a new product launch by tracking supply chain and operations milestones, coordinating materials, and identifying risks to timing or execution.
  • Sales & Operations Planning — Assist with demand and supply reviews by preparing data, analyzing trends, and helping teams align production, inventory, and customer needs.
  • Supply Chain Continuous Improvement and Total Delivered Cost — Use data to identify process waste, cost drivers, or service gaps and support improvement projects that reduce total delivered cost.
  • Strategic Sourcing — Research suppliers, compare cost and capability options, support sourcing events, or help build supplier scorecards for key categories.
  • Demand & Supply Planning — Review forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and supply constraints to help planners improve availability and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Process Engineering — Observe manufacturing or operational processes, collect time studies or workflow data, and recommend changes to improve productivity, quality, or ergonomics.
  • Supplier and Plant Quality — Analyze quality data, support root cause investigations, document corrective actions, or help improve supplier/plant performance metrics.

Skills/Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited institution with a focus in Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an on-going basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship, co-op, project, or campus leadership experience related to manufacturing, operations, supply chain, logistics, continuous improvement, data analysis, or engineering.
  • Demonstrated communication, collaboration, problem-solving, adaptability, curiosity, and initiative, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
