This position will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, ensuring material availability, driving cost reduction initiatives, and supporting manufacturing operations through effective procurement execution.

A leading manufacturer serving the aerospace, defense, industrial, and medical sectors is seeking a Senior Buyer to join its supply chain team. This position will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, ensuring material availability, driving cost reduction initiatives, and supporting manufacturing operations through effective procurement execution.
Key Responsibilities- Procure materials and components to support production requirements
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance across quality, delivery, and cost metrics
- Resolve supplier issues and implement corrective actions
- Conduct supplier reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Review MRP requirements and manage purchase orders accordingly
- Identify alternate suppliers and mitigate supply chain risks
- Support cost savings and sourcing initiatives
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within ERP systems
- Partner closely with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams
- 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or sourcing experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
- Aerospace, defense, electronics, industrial, or medical manufacturing
- Purchasing electronic or electrical components
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- APICS or ISM certification preferred
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
