Job Description & How to Apply Below

Manufacturing depends on more than just purchasing materials—it depends on executing every step required to get those materials where they need to be. This role is responsible for leading the daily movement of inbound materials, inventory, warehouse operations, and production support while overseeing plant purchasing activities.

You'll work closely with operations, production, maintenance, planning, suppliers, and logistics partners to eliminate material shortages, improve inventory performance, and ensure the plant has what it needs to operate efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys solving operational problems, improving processes, and leading from the floor.

How You'll Make an Impact Drive Material Flow Across the Plant

Ensure raw materials, production supplies, and purchased components move efficiently from supplier to receiving, warehouse, and ultimately the production floor.

  • Purchase plant materials, maintenance supplies, equipment, and indirect goods while balancing cost, delivery, inventory levels, and operational priorities.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries with suppliers and transportation partners.
  • Monitor material availability and proactively address delays or shortages.
  • Improve material movement and visibility throughout the operation.
  • Partner with planning, production, warehouse, and maintenance to keep manufacturing running without interruption.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline material flow and improve operational efficiency.
Build a High-Performing Warehouse & Inventory Operation

Create an organized, accurate, and dependable inventory environment that supports both daily production and long-term operational success.

  • Improve inventory accuracy through cycle counts and strong ERP transaction discipline.
  • Establish better warehouse organization, labeling, storage, and inventory control processes.
  • Balance inventory levels while maintaining service to production.
  • Ensure critical production materials, repair parts, and MRO inventory are readily available.
  • Drive continuous improvements in inventory management and warehouse performance.

Provide the day-to-day purchasing support necessary to keep materials, services, and supplies flowing into the operation.

  • Oversee purchase order execution and supplier follow-through.
  • Expedite critical material requirements and resolve delivery issues.
  • Partner with strategic sourcing teams on supplier performance and material availability.
  • Maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support plant operations by ensuring purchased materials arrive on time.
Lead People & Improve Performance

Develop a team focused on execution, accountability, and exceptional internal customer service.

  • Lead and coach employees across logistics, inventory, warehouse, and purchasing functions.
  • Set clear expectations and create ownership within the team.
  • Build strong partnerships with operations, maintenance, production, planning, and suppliers.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, materials management, warehouse operations, inventory control, supply chain, or manufacturing.
  • Leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of material flow, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience coordinating suppliers, transportation providers, and production support activities.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory transaction accuracy.
  • Exposure to purchasing, supplier management, or procurement execution is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What Success Looks Like

You'll know you're making an impact when production has the materials it needs, inventory accuracy continues to improve, warehouse operations become more organized, supplier communication becomes more proactive, and the logistics and purchasing teams operate with greater consistency, accountability, and confidence.
