The Safety Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for directing and advancing a comprehensive safety strategy across commercial and industrial construction operations. This position provides strategic oversight of company-wide safety programs, ensuring full regulatory compliance while cultivating a proactive, metrics‑driven safety culture. The Safety Manager partners closely with executive leadership, project managers, superintendents, and field teams to reduce risk, improve EMR performance, and standardize best practices across multiple job sites and regions.
This role requires a visible, influential leader who can drive behavioral change, implement scalable systems, and elevate safety performance in a fast‑paced, multi‑site construction environment.
- Lead the assessment, refinement, and continuous improvement of company‑wide safety policies, procedures, and field protocols
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and manage all site‑level safety standards and reporting requirements
- Develop, implement, and audit comprehensive safety programs across commercial and industrial construction projects
- Conduct regular on‑site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple active job sites
- Lead job site safety meetings and implement consistent, high‑impact toolbox talks
- Standardize safety training programs and establish internal safety certification processes
- Design and implement scalable safety reporting systems to track metrics and improve visibility across regions
- Drive proactive safety initiatives to reduce incidents and improve EMR performance
- Build strong, trust‑based relationships with superintendents, foremen, project managers, and field teams to reinforce consistent safety behaviors
- Influence diverse teams across geographies to adopt and sustain a high‑performance safety culture
- Provide ongoing safety training and serve as a subject matter expert and resource for field and office personnel
- Travel regularly to job sites to ensure alignment, accountability, and program effectiveness
- Minimum of 5 years of safety experience within commercial or industrial construction environments
- Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations and demonstrated experience managing site‑level compliance
- Experience working with EMR ratings, safety metrics, and reporting tools
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and audit safety programs and protocols
- Strong communication and training skills with experience engaging field and project teams
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments with regular travel requirements
- Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to influence superintendents, foremen, and project managers
- Experience in a design‑build construction environment preferred
