Safety Manager – Manufacturing Operations
A growing global manufacturing organization is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety strategy across multiple production operations. This role will focus on strengthening safety culture, reducing operational risk, and driving continuous improvement in training, systems, and overall safety performance.
Position OverviewThe Safety Manager will provide leadership and direction for facility safety programs, partnering closely with operations and engineering teams to identify risks, implement solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This individual will play a key role in developing safety talent, improving training systems, and supporting safe equipment installations and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze incidents, hazards, and near-miss trends to develop targeted risk reduction strategies.
- Lead and develop site safety representatives and support facility safety teams.
- Improve and manage safety training programs, including gap analysis, updated SOPs, and employee requalification.
- Ensure completion and communication of required safety policies and training.
- Maintain full compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead regular safety leadership meetings and ensure follow-through on action items.
- Support incident investigations and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
- Partner with engineering and operations on safety planning for new equipment installations and process changes.
- Oversee compliance with critical safety programs including LOTO, confined space, hot work, and pre-use inspections.
- Track and report safety performance metrics and support safety system assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of safety leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and related regulatory standards (ANSI, EPA, DOT).
- Experience with safety systems, risk reduction strategies, and training development.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP or EHS systems is a plus.
