Position: Operational Excellence (OpEx) Team Lead

Leads the day-to-day execution of OpEx activities by directing OpEx team members, leading frontline leaders throughout the enterprise, and ensuring consistent application of Lean systems, Daily Management, and structured problem-solving.

This role is responsible for driving execution, reinforcing standards, and developing team capability within the OpEx team and assigned value streams.

OpEx Team Execution & Supervision
  • Direct daily activities of the OpEx team, assign work based on business priorities, and ensure timely execution of A3s, DMAIC projects, and improvement actions
  • Monitor progress, remove barriers, and hold OpEx team members accountable for delivering results
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, feedback, and performance management to develop OpEx team capability and effectiveness
Problem Solving & Improvement Performance
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts on prioritized operational issues, ensuring clear problem definition, root cause identification, and effective countermeasures
  • Drive execution of value stream improvements including flow, WIP control, standard work, and basic pull system elements in partnership with operational leadership
  • Ensure improvements are completed, verified for effectiveness, and sustained within assigned areas
OpEx System Deployment & Sustainment
  • Ensure execution and compliance of Daily Management System (DMS), standard work, and visual management, ensuring alignment to defined OpEx methods and expectations
  • Maintain KPI visibility and data accuracy to enable effective tier meetings and performance management
  • Verify alignment to standards, identify execution gaps, and elevate issues requiring additional support or cross-functional resolution

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required
  • Strong knowledge of Lean systems (flow, pull, standard work, DMS) with proven implementation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a transformation environment
  • Strong coaching capability (leaders and Continuous Improvement (CI) practitioners)
  • Ability to prioritize work across multiple value streams based on business impact
  • Strong problem‑solving capability (A3, DMAIC, root cause analysis)
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive cross‑functional alignment
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • High accountability and disciplined execution mindset
Preferred
  • Experience leading CI/OpEx teams in manufacturing environments
  • Experience implementing pull systems in high-mix / ETO environments
  • Experience with ISO 9001 systems and internal audits
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
  • Experience building training/competency systems

Rare Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field preferred. 7 + years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations or Continuous Improvement roles, including experience leading teams and deploying Lean systems at scale.

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

The employee regularly is required to walk and reach with hands. The employee is frequently required to sit and rarely required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee uses computer keyboards often.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor often.
