Job Overview
Accelerate the possible by joining a winning Amcor team that’s transforming the packaging industry. The Sales Director is directly responsible for sales, growth, customer satisfaction and gross contribution results within the assigned geographic scope and product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Unlock value with new and existing customers and instill desired behaviors within the organization
- Lead high‑performing sales teams, manage talent and succession planning, and drive commercial excellence
- Develop and execute strategic channel and account plans, including trade up and trade out, to grow top‑line revenue
- Set, monitor, and coordinate corrective actions against sales targets and operating plans
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to lower sales cost and maximize contribution margin
- Ensure the sales team is trained, accountable, and aligned with Amcor’s “One Amcor Way” and Value‑Plus Commercial Excellence Program
- Provide senior management with regular business updates, strategic recommendations, and integrated sales‑marketing decisions
- Develop, motivate, and engage teams; manage performance KPIs and address gaps
- Drive commercial excellence programs and foster Amcor values in all dealings
- Oversee development and management of account plans for strategic and global key accounts
- Build proactive relationships with key decision makers and achieve win‑situations
- Define customer satisfaction KPIs for key accounts
- University degree in a relevant field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive commercial experience, ideally in food/healthcare packaging
- Proven leadership of national and regional accounts, driving top‑line growth and channel strategy
- Experience managing complex organizational structures and talent development, including succession planning
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $176,100 and $220,100; base pay may vary up to $264,100 depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, along with medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
