Under the general supervision of the Center’s President, the Chief Event Operations Officer provides strategic oversight of all event execution and facility operations for the Center. Serves as member of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center executive leadership team with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences and maintaining a world class venue.
Primary Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe following are the primary/essential functions of the position and are not all-inclusive.
Leadership- Contribute to the development of the Center’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization
- Lead strategic oversight of crisis response plans and training
- Make departmental decisions that reflect and fall in line with the mission, vision, and values of the Center
- Regularly attend weekly event operations meetings to ensure positive collaboration and clear communication for exceptional event execution
- Serve as the staff lead on Board Committees and effectively communicate important needs and concerns to the president
- Work collaboratively with the executive leadership team and staff to maintain a positive, supportive and mission and values focused work culture
- Represent the organization externally as necessary particularly with donors, touring personnel, vendors, and community organizations
- Oversee guest experience and facility operations in the planning, organization, management, and execution of all Center events
- Direct collaborative participation in the execution of internal and external events
- Manage and work with appropriate staff to evaluate all events, ensuring continual improvement and quality experiences
- Ensure the adherence to regulations of the Liquor Commission, Health Department and American with Disabilities Act requirements
- Ensure timely event settlements and adherence to established standard financial operating procedures
- Strategic oversight of all building maintenance, set-up/tear-down processes, cleaning initiatives
- Oversee facility capital replacement plan and help forecast any future trends and needs
- Strategic oversight of all health, safety, and security initiatives, including, but not limited to, Center building emergency response tools and programs, audience and artist health and safety policies and procedures and security staffing
The following are the secondary functions of the position and are not all-inclusive.
- Lead, supervise and develop skills of department staff
- Work with CFO on creating and management of annual budget, forecasting and capital replacement plan
- Oversee reports providing analysis and recommendations for future actions and improvements
- Represent the Center in the community by building relationships with arts and service organizations and businesses
- Serve as the ambassador among the Center staff and volunteers to encourage understanding and appreciation of the various strategic initiatives
- Work occasional nights and weekends
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, arts management or related field or ten years’ experience in customer service/hospitality industry. Minimum five years event management experience managing a large part-time workforce. Experience in facility management is preferred.

- Basic knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, safety regulations and fire codes as it relates to the delivery of services in a public venue
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and some holidays
