Hours:
M-F 5:00 am - 1:00 pm. May require outside hours as business needs dictate.
- Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the shipping and receiving department to ensure the accurate, cost effective and timely delivery of outbound freight.
- Monitor inventory levels and perform inventory cycle counts, ensuring adequate supplies of finished product to improve fill rate and on‑time shipping.
- Conduct training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coordinate interplant and intra‑plant movement of inventory materials.
- Assist with specifications for required material handling equipment, racking, and dock equipment.
- Conduct shipment audits to meet or improve customer shipping expectations.
- Assess staffing requirements and assign work, while monitoring performance goals.
- Coordinate stock shortage shipments and rework of returned goods with Production Department.
- Keep management informed on general conditions and on matters of importance, which could impact quality, cost, safety, or employee morale.
- Provide safety and job skills training.
- Monitor safety issues throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure the completion of all required records, paperwork, documents, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, work rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of equipment and departmental housekeeping standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Broad business knowledge of distribution operating systems and business processes, SAP experience preferred.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Demonstrated clear, professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective problem solving skills and decision making abilities.
- Strong Computer proficiency, with strength in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Lean manufacturing and/or process improvement work experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or other related field, preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in distribution.
- Demonstrated success leading in a union environment.
