Monthly Salary: $8,950.00
OverviewThis internal recruitment is open to current permanent Washington State Department of Corrections employees only. The position works for the Parkland Field Office located at 10109 South Tacoma Way, Lakewood, WA 98499.
Responsibilities- Overall management of the Field Office.
- Supervising staff in relation to RCWs, WACs, policy directives, and risk.
- Supervising Community Corrections Officers and other corrections staff.
- Developing, coordinating, and supervising specialized DOC initiatives and programs for staff and supervised individuals.
- Implement, direct, and evaluate statewide programs such as supervised reentry, risk management, and community involvement.
- Promote and uphold supervised individual standards and practices of the agency.
- Completion of other administrative and managerial tasks.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or foreign equivalent.
- Five years of experience in community corrections or related field.
- Two years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Valid Washington state vehicle operator's license.
- Combination of qualifying experience and education totaling nine years.
- Two years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Valid Washington state vehicle operator's license.
- Positive leadership in times of stress, conflict, and unforeseen events; remains calm and rational when handling difficult situations, including volatile or threatening circumstances.
- Expert intervention in response to threats.
- Working knowledge of supervised individual management, including behavior management, security and safety, and preparing S/Is for success.
- Experience with other governmental or social service entities in program development or implementation.
- Knowledge of Department of Corrections policies, RCWs, WACs, and ACA standards.
- Experience applying the Sentencing Reform Act, Offender Accountability Act, and Sentencing Alternatives.
- Experience with effective HR practices to maintain a trained and diverse workforce.
- Complete felony disclosure form prior to employment.
- Undergo psychological screening.
- Complete orientation and mandatory training.
- Comply with all department policies and agreements.
- Complete Firearms Academy and CIT training and maintain qualifications.
