Working hours for this role:
Sunday – Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.
Supervises and directs all activities and employees in Inventory Control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Management Responsibilities- Recruit, interview, and coach Inventory Control staff.
- Communicate hiring criteria to recruiters and monitor turnover to identify improvement opportunities.
- Identify individual and team strengths and development needs; create and validate training curriculum.
- Coach and mentor staff to deliver excellence to internal and external customers.
- Develop and manage succession plans for the Inventory Control function.
- Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives for individuals and teams.
- Solicit feedback from Workcell Manager, Business Unit Manager, peers, and team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching and counseling based on feedback.
- Perform timely and professional team member evaluations.
- Drive continuous improvement of key operational metrics and organizational goals.
- Coordinate large teams and maintain focus during crises.
- Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently.
- Provide a weekly communication forum for idea exchange.
- Organize verbal and written information using appropriate business style.
- Encourage employee input and adapt communication style accordingly.
- Understand campus strategic directions and define an Inventory Control strategy that aligns with them.
- Provide regular updates to senior managers on strategy execution.
- Identify creative ways to reduce costs through process and system streamlining.
- Use tools to monitor departmental cost and trends, continually improving value.
- Provide feedback on cost trends to peer managers.
- Monitor department performance and implement necessary procedural improvements.
- Drive inspection coverage and dock‑to‑stock material accuracy.
- Reduce processing time for received material.
- Recommend overtime or other recovery methods when needed.
- Maintain operational supplies and support equipment in proper working order.
- Provide feedback to Inventory Control and Quality departments and assist with problem solving.
- Interface with departmental supervisors, support functions, engineering, and program management.
- Verify and keep records of outgoing shipments.
- Ensure accuracy of record‑keeping and stockroom inventory.
- Guarantee correct parts reach production lines promptly and accurately.
- Recommend capital equipment and human resource changes when appropriate.
- Adhere to safety, health, and company security policies.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate technical documents.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present to top management.
- Advanced PC skills, including Jabil software packages.
- Proficiency in mathematics: algebra, geometry, percentages, and volume calculations.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations.
- Financial and analytical expertise and ability to manage business analytics.
- Knowledge of international customs, indirect taxes, and global logistics regimes.
- Proven track record in change management and continuous productivity improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; at least five years of relevant experience.
- Combination of education, experience, and/or training also acceptable.
