Wisconsin Teaching and Learning Leaders (WiTALL) is a statewide professional organization dedicated to advancing instructional excellence, curriculum development, and educational leadership across Wisconsin. Following its transition from Wisconsin ASCD, the organization supports a network of curriculum directors, instructional coaches, school leaders, and educational partners committed to improving teaching and learning outcomes.

WiTALL provides professional learning opportunities, leadership networks, conferences, and advocacy initiatives that promote educational equity, instructional innovation, and collaboration among K-12 education leaders throughout the state.

The Role

WiTALL is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the organization's chief administrative officer, working closely with the Board of Directors to execute its strategic vision and oversee day-to-day operations. The Executive Director will provide organizational leadership while strengthening partnerships, managing statewide programs, and ensuring the long-term success of the association.

This part-time leadership position is ideal for an experienced educational leader with deep expertise in curriculum, instruction, and instructional leadership within Wisconsin's public education system.

Key Responsibilities Organizational Leadership
  • Execute the strategic vision established by the Board of Directors.
  • Champion educational equity, inclusive curriculum practices, and instructional excellence.
  • Oversee the organization's day-to-day operations.
Program & Event Management
  • Lead the planning and execution of statewide conferences and professional learning programs.
  • Manage instructional leadership networks and specialized workshops.
  • Oversee marketing and member engagement initiatives.
Financial Stewardship
  • Partner with the Board Treasurer and administrative partners to manage the organization's budget.
  • Monitor membership revenue and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Support sustainable financial planning.
Governance & Partnerships
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate board meetings, communications, and governance processes.
  • Build relationships with school districts, educational organizations, vendors, and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Wisconsin public education.
  • Strong background in curriculum development, instructional coaching, or school administration.
  • Established network within Wisconsin's K-12 education community.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and event management skills.
  • Experience managing nonprofit or association budgets.
  • Master's degree or higher in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
  • Relevant Wisconsin DPI licensure.
Compensation
  • Approximately $17,000 annually.
  • Part-time (0.15 FTE) stipend-based position.
