Welder I – Industrial Rotor Repair (Manufacturing / Welding)

Location: Appleton, WI
Pay Range: $20.50–$25.00 per hour
Shift Differential: +$3.50/hour for 3rd shift
Pay Progression: Up to +$1.50/hour increase after 6 months based on performance
Job Type: Full-time, Hourly

Industrial Welder Opportunity – Manufacturing & Repair

We are hiring a Welder I to support industrial rotor repair and refurbishment in a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for candidates with welding, fabrication, or mechanical repair experience
, or those looking to build a long‑term career in industrial welding and manufacturing
.

You will work on large rotating equipment used in paper manufacturing
, performing weld repairs, grinding, and finishing in a safety‑focused shop environment. Training is provided, with opportunities for skill growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities (Welder / Manufacturing)
  • Perform industrial weld repair on rotors and related components
  • Grind, blend, and finish welded areas to meet quality and dimensional standards
  • Use basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Follow welding procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Work independently after training while supporting team objectives
  • Assist with occasional field repair work at customer sites (limited travel)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Perform other manufacturing and shop duties as assigned
Welding & Technical Experience (Preferred, Not Required)
  • Industrial welding or fabrication experience (manufacturing or repair environment)
  • Experience with grinding, finishing, or mechanical repair work
  • Familiarity with shop tools, lifting equipment, and industrial safety practices
  • Ability to read measurements and follow work instructions

Note: We welcome applicants with trade school training, apprenticeships, or hands‑on shop experience. On‑the‑job training is provided for motivated candidates.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to work various shifts as required
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Strong attendance, reliability, and willingness to learn
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Standing, welding, grinding, and lifting as part of daily work
  • Use of PPE and adherence to safety standards
  • Team‑oriented shop with structured onboarding and training
This Welder I position can progress into:
  • Industrial Repair Specialist
  • Field Service or Rotor Repair Technician
  • Lead or specialty welding roles
